Membership
The question was asked of me, why join Alberta DockDogs? We live in "this place" and it looks like you are based in Edmonton. Well, on the surface anyway. I, the writer of this page, am in Edmonton, but I am only one member. We have members from all over the province. It is a big province and I envision regional subgroups included as a part of the greater whole which is the Alberta DockDog club. So your membership will support the group as a whole and right down to a regional level..
It was asked where events will be held. There were events in prior years in Edmonton, Red Deer, Calgary, Medicine Hat and Saskatoon, hosted by DockDogs Worldwide, which were attended by our club members. The club hosted its very first event in 2011 in Edmonton, and our second club event was at Calgary in 2012 Will they be annual events? They will be if we want them to be, but that requires members who are willing to put a little effort into making them happen and show the sponsors a good return for their investment. We can't expect events to be organized for us, and I can't do it all myself. The members we have signed up can't do it all either. The more members we have, the more we can show to potential sponsors and event organizations. Nobody wants to host an event or advertise at an event that may not have a good turn out. Again I envision an event in all the region each year. To do that, means having members in each region to hold the event for.
The members are what make the club, they guide the activities and provide the energy and vibrancy of the club. We are still a new and very young club, and because of that, we are a blank canvas. We will be what the members make us to be. Every member has their strengths which can be utilized to grow and develop the club, the club which will host DockDog events throughout Alberta. Individual membership -- One person and up to 2 dogs
$30.00 for the year
Family membership -- All members of one family, living in the same residence and any number of dogs
$60.00 for the year
- $5.00 off any waves registered for at club events.
- Early Bird pre-registration for club events
- Entry into member only drawings for prizes
- Voting rights at club meeting
- Opportunity to sit on the Clubs Board of Directors
- Opportunity to run for executive positions on the board
- Discounts at designated businesses (to be determined)
- Entry into club organized functions and practices.
